You think it would be easy to write a blog post about a photoshoot with the people you care about the most—but it is actually really difficult. Perhaps that is why I put off writing this blog post, or rather, all blog posts off. Because no shoot is just any shoot and the thought of not perfectly capturing each session’s love with words gives me hesitation. Each shoot is so close to my heart, and this one of course was no different. For that reason, I was so honored to capture this couples session surrounded in greenery.
Missing the vivid greens during this couples session
While I live in Phoenix, a big part of my heart stays in Chicago–and not only because sometimes I really miss this vidid greenery. Mostly because of the little cutie, Mia, pictured in these photos. She’s the daughter of my sister Kelly and brother-in-law Bill. Whenever possible, I try to visit them, and whenever I do, I bring my camera. Obviously, they’re a good looking family and always worth a photo op.
Why it’s a favorite
I’ve done lots of shoots with them, but I always come back to this one as my favorite. We walked a few blocks over to the forest near their home just behind the brookfield zoo for these photos. It was so green! Living in Phoenix now, I love to switch it up occasionally and shoot where I have the chance to be surrounded by such deep greenery.
Sure, there were mosquitos every corner we turned, but we did our best to make it fast, fun, and worth the timeless memories from that day.
