On one of the last hot-hot weekends in Phoenix, I was lucky enough to escape up North for a Payson, Arizona Mountain Elopement. There, I was so honored to photograph the amazing love between Caley & Jameson. Many people are familiar with Phoenix and its heat, but less are familiar with all the other amazing town and landscapes Arizona has to offer, especially Payson!
About Payson, Arizona where this Mountain Elopement took place
A trip to Payson, Arizona is just shy of 2 hours from central Phoenix, and it is definitely worth every minute! Not only is it a great break from the heat, it’s surrounded by the Tonto National Forest which is, surprisingly to most, the fifth largest national forest in the US.
A bump in the road on the way to Payson, Arizona
While it is a quick trip, it can be a bit dicey. In fact, Caley and Jameson busted a tire on their way up. The good news was, they arrives just in time for golden hour accompanied by cotton candied sky that made the deep greens look all that much more luscious. The whiskey also helped to ease the pain of that broken tire.
The perfect dress for a mountain elopement
Caley’s dress and its lace looked so perfect in the sunset. During the shoot, I could not keep my eyes off of Caley’s infectious smile and neither could Jameson. They spent most of the hour twirling in twilight. And I thought I’d nearly break my shutter from trying to capture ever picture perfect moment. Could not have asked for a better way to break the heat!
Very special thanks to everyone who made this possible:
